Don’t you just love a pretty breakfast to start your day? I woke up feeling a little groggy this morning, so I figured I could do with a few nutrients to get me going. I’ve realized that the secret to a delicious green smoothie is banana – it adds natural sweetness and it rids the bitter taste you can often get from adding spinach or kale.
This simple green smoothie bowl can be pulled together with just a few key ingredients: banana, avocado, spinach, flaxseed, nut butter and milk. If you don’t have flaxseed, you can always miss it out or add something different like hemp seed or chia. It doesn’t really affect the taste it’s just a nice fibre boost.
I love this bowl – it’s full of healthy fats, protein and fibre, and you can customize the ingredients & toppings to suit you. Amazing, huh?
We didn’t have too many ingredients in the fridge, but strawberries or raspberries would have been nice in there too. I always think coconut flakes look amazing (FYI. I hate coconut – apart from coconut oil – so you’ll probably never find it in my recipes) but that’s another addition you can try!
