You may be wondering, how does a smoothie bowl differ from a regular smoothie? See, a smoothie bowl may just look like a normal smoothie in disguise, but it’s much creamier, thicker and full of so much goodness. Plus, I find I just gobble down smoothies like there’s no tomorrow. With bowls, I take my time and appreciate it, spoon by spoon.
With a mix of flavours, textures and consistencies, this cacao smoothie bowl is a taste of heaven in a morning. And it’s not just a breakfast recipe either – it makes for a delicious dessert too. I find it keeps me satiated for hours as well, as the mix of protein and raw fruit really does the trick.
Playing with the toppings is my favourite part. I decided to keep this one simple, but you can choose from a whole range of ingredients to throw on top – cacao nibs, goji berries, acai berries, seeds, nuts, fruit, coconut flakes or whatever else takes your fancy. It’s for you to get creative – all i’m doing is providing you with the basics.
