LA has been on my travel list ever since we moved to Vancouver and I finally made it there a few weeks ago!!
I was invited down on a brand press trip with Kiehls and IT Cosmetics to attend a couple of their product launch events and it was such a cool few days. I love both brands and their products so it was great having the opportunity to attend the launches and having heard sooo much about LA over the last few years, I loved that I finally got to visit and see it for myself.
I only managed to fit in a few places as we were there for just 3 days and had the brand events, but what I did see and experience of LA I absolutely loved. I spent one evening at Santa Monica Beach and witnessed theee most stunning sunset. The Pier is a bit hectic but the area is really cool and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants next to the beach and the sunset with the palm trees was beautiful. We hit up Rodeo Drive one afternoon (just had to!) and visited the very very cool Louis Vuitton X Exhibit, which is dedicated to the brand's 160 year history and its collaborations and unique pieces and it was super colourful and picturesque. It's on until September so still some time left to check it out if you're in LA!
The brands put us up at the Kimpton La Peer hotel in West Hollywood which was absolutely beautiful - I highly recommend it if you're looking for somewhere cool in that area. It has a lovely pool area, the food is amazing (the Avo Toast is to die) and there are loads of nice hang out spots around the hotel. If you stay there or if you're in the WeHo area you have to eat at Gracias Madre - it's a vegan Mexican restaurant next door to the hotel and the food and vibe is incredible. I've never seen such a pretty patio area - Vancouver needs more of that!
Both events that we went to were good fun - one was for the launch of Kiehl's Avocado Hydrating Mask, the other was for the new IT Cosmetics x Dry Bar Lash Blow Out Mascara (which is amazing). I am so so appreciative for opportunities like this especially when it's with brands that I have loved and used for many years.
All in all, it was a lovely trip and I can't wait to go back and see more of LA! I don't plan to make an LA guide just yet as I haven't experienced enough to create anything in-depth, but I thought I'd share a few of the places that I did go to as well as some pics I shot during my trip!
Hope you like some of these pics and take a look at my vlog from the trip to see more of what we got up to!
