After 7 weeks of city life it was finally time to spread our wings and find an escape from Vancouver. Even in such a vibrant, open city it’s easy to feel trapped, so it was nice to experience something different and unlock another area of BC.

To celebrate our 4 years together we put our driving skills to the test and set off up the coast with no plan or agenda. It was a beautiful feeling being back on the open road on a gorgeous spring day, with no time restraints and nowhere to be. As impossible as I thought it was, I fell in love with this place all over again. We discovered beautiful beaches, coves, waterfalls, forests and lookout points, and stumbled across panoramic landscapes that absolutely blew us away. I feel lucky to live in a place with so much variety, diversity and natural beauty that lies so close to the city.

It’s easy to get caught up with the stresses of everyday life and we often forget what’s out there. Sometimes it’s nice to leave the map behind, spend the day with the one you love and just drive. After all, you never know what you’ll find…
